Human trafficking is modern slavery: people being compelled, by force or threat of force, to work without pay. An estimated 30 million people are enslaved around the world, with thousands of known cases right here in the Bay Area and California. UUCPA is hosting this two-day program by Unitarian Universalists Ending Modern Slavery to help Unitarian Universalists and co-travelers to learn more about human trafficking and acquire some skills for taking action. The program includes a keynote, worship service, introductory workshop for those just beginning to learn about this problem, and next-stage workshop for those who know the basics and want to act. More program details will be available in September.
